This is a widely used therapy which is based on identifying a “problem” and addressing it with a “goal focused” approach. The fundamental belief of this method is that being able to change your thinking will lead to a change in feelings and behaviours.
I tend to use this technique in shorter term work where there are very specific goals or in longer term work, where appropriate I use it in conjunction with the TA framework. This then helps people to understand where the unhelpful thinking may have come from before moving towards change.
